Sourced from the Williams family vineyard (just a short five minute tractor ride from the Parker Estate Cellar Door) fruit for this Chardonnay was picked in March 2017. Following harvest the fruit was fermented in stainless steel before remaining on lees for 6 months to boost flavour complexity and texture. Favourite Son Chardonnay is elegant and fruit driven, showcasing distinct varietal and regional notes.
The Colour is bright light straw with golden tints. On the nose, lifted aromas of nectarine and honeydew melon with a touch of spice and toasted cashews. On the palate; fresh lemon-citrus with a panna cotta like creamy texture, brioche and some mineral restraint. Finishes fresh and crisp.

This reserve Chardonnay is slightly buttery and yeasty on the fore, brightened by aromas of green apple, fresh melon and a hint of tropical fruit. The palate is tightly structured, with crunchy fruit, a chalky textural weight and a long, green-apple finish.
Rio Añejo Macabeo Chardonnay is an elegant fresh, dry Spanish white wine from the La Mancha wine region. It has a nice clear color with green and light yellow glints. The elegant scent reminds you of something of citrus, yellow melon and a light spiciness. In the mouth it is nice and full and at the same time wonderfully fresh. Yellow fruit and citrus play the main role in the taste. The full aftertaste completes the wine.

Located in Stellenbosch, the farm of Welmoed was first granted to Governor Simon van der Stel in 1690. Over the years, many great wines have been produced in the Welmoed cellar. Today, Welmoed maintains its proud winemaking tradition.
In the vineyard : The grapes were selected from premium vineyards in the Stellenbosch and Robertson regions. The vines were grown in the cool Mediterranean climate of Stellenbosch and the warmer areas of Robertson using five-wire hedge systems within loamy clay soil.
In the cellar : The grapes were harvested at 22 to 24 Balling, with minimum skin contact and two days of settling before the start or primary fermentation. Fermentation took place partially in stainless steel tanks on 1 g/ℓ of French oak staves and in 300-litre French oak barrels at 14 to 16 Celsius. No malolactic fermentation was allowed.
This lightly oaked wine is made from Coastal Stellenbosch Region grapes farmed for premium quality. It has beautiful butterscotch and spicy notes, with citrus and melon flavours on the nose and palate.
