Wines of Chile continue the legacy of Spanish wine culture in the ‘New World’. The rugged and wild landscapes, with the currents of the Pacific to one side and the Andean slopes to the other, allow excellent climatic conditions for the cultivation of varieties brought from the Old World: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay which prosper with indigenous grapes like Carmenere.

Among the labels that make up the company’s portfolio is Quereu, the name of a Chilean bird in the Mapuche language. The varietal line, which arrives in Brazil, includes the white Quereu Sauvignon Blanc, fruity, with citrus and herbaceous notes and great freshness; Quereu Chardonnay, with good volume, complex structure and good persistence; and the reds Quereu Carménère, fruity, with soft tannins; Quereu Cabernet Sauvignon, with sweet tannins and good body; and Quereu Merlot, balanced, fresh, with pleasant acidity and ripe tannins. These wines are produced in the Central Valley.
VINEYARDS:
Our entire vineyards are carefully tended with affection and with respect for the natural surroundings. The grapes in our Gran Verano Merlot wine come from our own three vineyards in the Valle Central in Chile. The vineyards were planted in flat and low ridges in places with extraordinary natural conditions perfect for the growth of grapevines.CLIMATE:
Valle Central has a Mediterranean-style climate with a cold and rainy winter and a dry and warm summer. Marked temperature differences between day and night make ideal conditions for the growth of our wine grapes.
VINIFICATION:
The grapes are harvested by hand in March when they have reached optimal maturity. The must is then fermented in our winery in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts at temperatures ranging from 28° to 30° C (82° to 86° F) for seven days. The wine is then left to macerate for five additional days in order to extract its fruity characteristic. Finally the wine is placed in stainless steel tanks for three months before being bottled and launched on the market.
